The support has a holding profile (1) comprising side regions (3, 4), which form u-shaped retainer at an edge of a glass element (20). A pair of opposite adhesive pads (5, 6) is arranged at the edge of the glass element within the profile. Contact pressure directed toward surface areas (21) of the glass element acts on the adhesive pads by a resilient pretensioned retaining clip (7). An adhesive is supplied into an adhesive channel, where the adhesive is formed from a single-component adhesive of a solvent free, isocyanate-free, modified polymer. i.e. modified silane-hybrid-polymer.
