PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a membrane electrode assembly for improving manufacturing efficiency, and to provide an electrolyte membrane easy to handle.SOLUTION: A polymer intermediate is formed into a film after desorbing protecting groups from the polymer intermediate. However, a polymer to be used in the manufacturing method is easy to hydrate because it is configured to introduce phosphonic acid groups to side chains, and so when formed into a film while desorbing the protecting groups, the film is sticky and hard to handle. In this point, when the polymer intermediate is formed in its stage into the film, the film is easy to handle. Thus, the film is efficiently joined to an electrode catalyst layer during manufacturing the membrane electrode assembly. |
