PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal light processing device that saves the time taken and labor for design and manufacture, an optical transmission device, a wavelength selective switch, and a signal light processing method therefor.SOLUTION: Input wavelength multiplex signal light is separated into a digital coherent signal and a direct detection signal, and wavelength dispersion compensation is performed not on the digital coherent signal, but on the direct detection signal. The digital coherent signal obtained by separating the wavelength multiplex signal light and the direct detection signal after the wavelength dispersion compensation are multiplexed and output.
