<p>Provided is a correction method for a display device, wherein a control unit receives uneven black information including detected brightness information and position information of an entirely black display provided on a display portion and causes a storage unit to store the information received. In accordance with the brightness information of a displayed image, the control unit generates correction information to increase the transmittance at a position where the judged brightness is low, on the basis of the uneven black information stored in the storage unit, and supplies the correction information to an image signal processing unit in order to increase the transmittance of the display portion (liquid crystal transmittance waveform 22). Also, in accordance with the brightness information of the displayed image, the control unit performs a correction to reduce the quantity of light to be emitted from the light source on the basis of the correction information (backlight brightness waveform 73).</p> |
