PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of determining generation of a ghost sound based on a tooth flank shape of a gear single article before being integrated into a gear mechanism; to thereby predict generation of the ghost sound from the gear single article; and to reduce manufacturing cost and improve productivity of the gear.SOLUTION: In this ghost sound generation determination device E, a tooth flank measuring device 20 generates individual tooth flank shape data of each tooth by measuring each tooth flank shape of a plurality of teeth in succession in a rotation direction of a gear 3 which is an inspection object, and an analyzer 40 generates integrated tooth flank shape data by connecting in the biting order, the plurality of individual tooth flank shape data, and performs periodic analysis of the integrated tooth flank shape data with the order based on the number of teeth of the gear 3. It is determined that a ghost sound is generated by the gear 3 when a waveform acquired by the periodic analysis has a peak value in the order other than the orders equal to the number of teeth of the gear 3 and an integer multiple of the number of teeth. |
