PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp device for avoiding an increase of a difference between ground potential and the potential of a lamp terminal.SOLUTION: The discharge lamp device includes a DC power supply 31 whose voltage about 1/2 of output voltage is grounded to the ground potential, a switching element 43 and a switching element 44 connected in series to each other between the positive electrode and the negative electrode of the DC power supply 31, a control unit 45 for turning the switching element 43 and the switching element 44 on/off alternately, an inductor 46 connected between a connection point between the switching element 43 and the switching element 44 and the lamp terminal T1 of a discharge lamp LT, a capacitor 47 connected between the lamp terminal T1 and a lamp terminal T2 of the discharge lamp LT, and a capacitor 48 connected between the lamp terminal T2 and the negative electrode of the DC power supply 31 for interrupting a DC current. The capacitor 48 is charged up to 1/2 of the output voltage of the DC power supply 31 to become the ground potential, and the potential of the lamp terminal T1 vibrates around the ground potential. |
