PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of bending a planar adhesion object, in which the planar adhesion object having a sheet-like member attached to a flexible thin plate body through a thermoplastic adhesive can be bent without generating wrinkles or sagging in the sheet-like member.SOLUTION: The method of bending an electrophoretic display device 1 is for gradually bending the electrophoretic display device 1 for which a gas barrier film 5 is attached to a flexible display panel 2 and a display driving substrate 3 through the thermoplastic adhesive 6 over two or more stages to be a predetermined bend shape, and includes: a bending/holding process of using a plurality of bending jigs corresponding the bend shapes in the respective stages in the order from the one of a shallow bend shape, bending the electrophoretic display device 1 and holding it in the bend shapes in the respective stages; and a heating/maintaining process of heating the electrophoretic display device 1 to the temperature of a melting point in the thermoplastic adhesive 6 plus 0°C to 20°C in the state of holding the bend shapes in the respective stages and maintaining the heating state for the predetermined time. |
