PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor which can generate a large thrust while being lighter in the weight of a needle, and its armature structure.SOLUTION: The linear motor comprises a magnetic pole in which a plurality of permanent magnets are aligned, and an armature which opposes the row of permanent magnets via magnetic spaces, and is wound with an armature coil having a plurality of slots and teeth at its opposing face. In the linear motor, the magnetic pole and the armature are made to travel with respect to each other with either of the magnet pole and the armature as a stator, and the other of them as the needle, the tooth width dimension of the armature is gradually increased from the tooth tip toward a root, and a width ratio of the teeth and the slots (tooth-width dimension/slot width dimension) is gradually increased from the tooth tip toward the root. |
