PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant for polyester fiber which is capable of stabilizing the dispersed state of tris (2, 3-dibromopropyl) isocyanurate in a treatment bath, even under the condition of dyeing and bathing treatment, and a flame retarding method.SOLUTION: The flame retardant for polyester fiber is made by dispersing or emulsifying tris (2, 3-dibromopropyl)isocyanurate in water using 20-200 mass% of at least one polymeric anionic surfactant selected from naphthalene sulfonate condensate, a condensate of creosote oil sulfonate, lignin sulfonate, a condensate of melamine sulfonate, and bisphenol sulfonate-based condensate to the amount of tris (2, 3-dibromopropyl) isocyanurate. |
