PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supply recovery separation type developing device in which the leakage of an initial developer hardly occurs even when the developing device adopts the configuration of housing the initial developer inside the circulation conveyance path of the developing device and sealing it with a sealing member.SOLUTION: A first sealing member 31 for closing a recovery opening C which communicates a developing roller with the inside of a developer recovery conveyance path in order to recover the developer from the developing roller 16 to the inside of the developer recovery conveyance path B and a second sealing member for closing a circulation opening which communicates the developer recovery conveyance path with a developer supply conveyance path A are provided detachably from a developing device body. The initial developer is housed inside the developer recovery conveyance path, and by detaching the first sealing member and the second sealing member from the developing device body, the developing processing using the initial developer can be performed.
