System and method for titrating fluids

The system has a holding device for holding an injection device (1) or needle, and a reading device (17) for reading indicators of the injection device or needle. A drive device (18) is detachably coupled with a piston of the injection device or is coupled with a piston in a cylinder when the injection device is held by the holding device. A controller (22) e.g. microcomputer or microcontroller, is connected with an operating device (23), the reading device and the drive device. The controller controls movement of the piston of the injection device based on the indicators. The indicators are formed as a microchip and/or radio frequency identification (RFID). An independent claim is also included for a method for titration of fluids.
