<p>Disclosed herein is an anticancer composition comprising a 13-deoxy anthracycline compound as given, wherein each R1, R2 and R3 individually is H or OH; R4 is H, OH, alkyl, or O-alkyl; R5 is O or NH; and R6 is a guar moiety, pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; and a taxane. Preferred 13-deoxy anthracyclines are 13-deoxydoxorubicin, 13-deoxydaunorubicin, 13-deoxycarminomycin, 13-deoxyepirubicin, 13-deoxyidarubicin, 13-deoxyannamycirt, 13-deoxyamrubicin and a 5-imino analogs thereof, and said preferred taxanes is selected from paclitaxel or docetaxel. Such compositions are useful in the treatment of cancer.</p> |
