<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pressure control device immediately restarting an internal combustion engine from an idle stop. <P>SOLUTION: When the idle stop is required (S400:Yes), common rail pressure is regulated to a target residual pressure (S402:No), and start pressure is not yet measured (S404:No), this fuel pressure control device regards the common rail pressure at this time as the start pressure Ps (S406), and increments a time counter (S410). When the idle stop is not required (S400:No), the start pressure is already measured (S412:Yes), and the time counter reaches a predetermined value or more (S414:Yes), the fuel pressure control device regards the common rail pressure at this time as termination pressure Pe, and calculates a rate of decrease in pressure from differential pressure ΔP between the termination pressure Pe and the star pressure Ps and the time counter (S418).
