PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a roll paper printer in which an excessive paper feeding load does not act on a paper feeding roller even in case that a paper feeding speed is accelerated. SOLUTION: In a roll paper storage unit 11 of the roll paper printer 1, a send-out roller 81 attached to roll paper 12 and a send-out motor 82 for rotatably driving this roller 81 are disposed. The roll paper 12 is rotated by the send-out roller 81 to send out the recording paper 12a so that the slackΔcorresponding to a paper feeding amount is generated on the recording paper part at this side of a rear-side paper feeding roller 34 during the time from the paper feeding ending time point T5 to the next paper feeding starting time point T2. Since the inertial load of the roll paper 12 does not act on the rear-side paper feeding roller 34 by the slackΔat the paper feeding time (time points T2 to T5), the paper feeding load can be reduced, and the decrease of the paper feeding accuracy can be prevented.
