Disclosed is a developer cartridge that is provided with a rotating body to be detected as a contact projection and so forth and is superior to past developer cartridges. When an agitator gear (49) and an engaging part (66) rotate by means of the driving power received by the input gear (45), the engaging part (66) mates with a part to be engaged (78) which is disposed on the rotational trajectory of the engaging part (66). Given that the gear teeth (76) and the gear teeth (67) of the agitator gear (49) are not engaging each other, the rotating body to be detected (50) is static and the rotating position thereof does not change until the engaging part (66) engages the part to be engaged (78). After the engaging part (66) mates with the part to be engaged (78), the engaging part (66) further rotates and applies a force to the engaged part (78) and the rotating body to be detected (50) begins to rotate. Additionally, the gear teeth (76) come into contact with the agitator gear (49) when the rotating position of the rotating body to be detected (50) is within a predetermined range. Consequently, the gear teeth (76) are driven by the rotation of the agitator gear (49) whereby the rotating body to be detected (50) rotates. |
