PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an injector in which a step of measuring the flow rate of a fuel injection valve (injector) is separated from an assembling step. SOLUTION: The flow rate characteristic (fuel flow rate) of the injector at the reference needle lift position of the valve body of a product is measured. A characteristic value of the flow rate and diagrammatic drawing of a reference flow rate characteristic are checked, and a target needle lift achieving the reference flow rate characteristic is determined. After that, when the injector is assembled using a valve body and a needle, the injector is assembled while adjusting the needle lift to a target value. The injector thus assembled attains the reference flow rate characteristic (the reference amount of fuel injected). Namely, in the whole products of the injector, the reference amount of fuel injected can be attained. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate a variation in injection quantity between injectors.
