The battery (1) has a cell stack (3) made of multiple battery cells (2), and metallic elements connected in electrical contacts of the battery cells for electrically connecting the battery cells in the cell stack. Guide devices are connected with the metallic elements by welding, soldering or sticking connection for a cooling medium. The cooling medium i.e. fluid, is formed as cold medium. The guide devices are arranged between the electric contacts of the battery cells. The cell stack is connected above the electrical contacts of the battery cells in a stacking direction.
