PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing a flaked graphite compound. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a flaked graphite compound, the graphite compound is contacted with a high-pressure fluid, then the pressure applied to the high-pressure fluid is reduced, thus the graphite compound is flaked. Preferably, a mixture is prepared by causing the graphite compound to exist in a fluid; the fluid in the mixture is heated under a high pressure to be changed into a high-pressure fluid, and simultaneously the graphite compound is caused to contact with the high-pressure fluid; then, the pressure applied to the high-pressure fluid is reduced and the graphite compound is flaked; and thus, the flaked graphite compound is efficiently produced by smoothly exfoliating layer-surfaces of the graphite compound.
