<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a grayscale expression in a larger number of levels even without using a signal line driver corresponding to the larger number of grayscale levels. <P>SOLUTION: A signal selector giving a video signal voltage and a reference voltage for threshold correction to a pixel circuit selects, as a reference voltage for threshold correction, one voltage value from a plurality of voltage values in accordance with a grayscale value at which each pixel circuit emits light, and outputs the selected voltage value. The emission luminance of the pixel circuit where the threshold correction is carried out is proportional to the square of a difference between the video signal voltage and the standard voltage for threshold correction. Thereby, light emission in a greater number of grayscale levels is attainable by selecting the standard voltage for threshold correction among the plurality of values without increasing the number of grayscale levels by the video signal voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
