PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of determining an inclination state of a recording medium, and capable of carrying out a recording operation without consuming wastefully the recording medium. SOLUTION: A side end part of a paper roll is detected in a plurality of portions by an end part detecting sensor (S101), when the paper roll is set in a prescribed position. The inclination state of the set paper roll is checked (S102) by calculating a difference between the detected end part positions, to be determined whether the difference is within an allowance range or not. An inclination correction operation is carried out to draw back the paper roll to be brought again into contact with a resist roller (S104), when the paper roll is determined to be inclined, and conveyance control is carried out to roll back the paper roll from the recording position to an original position (S106), determinedly as a failed set state of the paper roll, when the inclination state is not eliminated even when repeating the inclination correction operation over a prescribed frequency.
