PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store data on money in a money storage cassette removed from an apparatus body. SOLUTION: A money depository apparatus includes an intake part 101 for taking in input money sheet by sheet, an identification part 103 for identifying and counting the taken-in money, the removable and loadable storage cassette 109 for storing the identified and counted money, a storage part 120 for storing the counting result of the money stored in the storage cassette as outstanding information, an instruction reception part 115 for receiving an instruction to or not to erase the outstanding information stored in the storage part accompanied by the removal of the storage cassette, and a control part 104 for erasing the outstanding information from the storage part as the storage cassette is removed when instructed to erase the outstanding information via the instruction reception part, or when instructed not to erase the outstanding information, holds the outstanding information intact in the storage part accompanied by the removal of the storage cassette.
