PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a continuously variable transmission capable of reducing sudden change in speed while maintaining gear change response in good condition. SOLUTION: The control device 50 of a continuously variable transmission includes a gear ratio control means 210 for carrying out the feedback control of a speed control value based on a deviationΔNINbetween a target input rotation speed NIN_tgtand an input shaft rotation speed NINand a feedback gain, and a control starting means 208 for starting the feedback control when predetermined starting conditions are met, wherein in the case where the deviationΔNINexceeds a predetermined followability deterioration determination value NIN_th1(S3) at the time of starting the feedback by the control starting means 208 (S2), feedback control followability is deteriorated by a followability deterioration means 222 of a followability control means 218 as compared to when the deviationΔNINdoes not exceed the followability deterioration determination value NIN_th1(S4), resulting in the reduction in the frequency of the execution of a sudden change in speed at the time of a large deviationΔNIN.
