<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning mechanism designed so as to prevent nonuniform wiping from occurring when cleaning an optical sensor surface with a cleaning member. <P>SOLUTION: The cleaning member 52 is guided by the guide members 68 and 69 of a window 67 so as to be reciprocally movable. A distance W1 between the guide members 68 and 69 is set greater than the width W2 of the cleaning member 52, and thereby a margin Y is arranged. The cleaning member 52 is synchronized with the opening/closing operation of an opening/closing cover 47 by tensile springs 64, 64 so as to move between a retracting position and a cleaning position such that the wiping member 71 slides over the sensor surface S and thereby wipes off foreign matter. Making the spring moduli of the two tensile springs 64 different, using the margin Y, and vibrating the cleaning member 52 widthwise during the reciprocal movement make a cleaning operation irregular and complex, thus preventing nonuniform wiping. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
