The coated bearer substrate (1) has at least one security characteristic for data media or valuable documents that can be detected in both incident and transmitted light and that has different typical color or fluorescence properties on both sides, whereby the different color or fluorescence properties are separated by a metal or pigmented printed layer that is not transparent to light.
