Class 81(2) A double-passage balloon catheter for intratracheal use is formed from a twin tube 1 extruded over two cores, a groove being formed at the same time to receive a double-bore air tube 6 which is cemented therein. Balloons 3, 4 are drawn over the main tube and secured with silk bindings 9 and; at the upper end, a soft rubber dualattachment piece 19 is fitted to the main catheter tubes, while air tubes 10, 11 are connected to the inflation tubes. Inflation bulbs 12, 13 are fitted and secured, by further silk bindings 17. The whole appliance is finally coated with rubber or synthetic resin by dipping. |
