<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition having excellent scratch resistance of an image stabilized on a recording medium and excellent drawing property and also having excellent ink discharge property, and to provide an ink set and an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition includes a pigment, a dispersant, a water soluble polymeric compound and water, in which the dispersant includes a polymer containing a constituent unit derived from a compound represented by formula (I) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.
