<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method improving urea decomposition and removing efficiency of raw water, and a method of producing ultrapure water using the water treatment method. <P>SOLUTION: The raw water containing organic matter, in particular urea, is introduced into a reactor 11, and urea is oxidized and decomposed by adding a water-soluble bromide salt and an oxidizer (preferably hypochlorite), followed by biological treatment in a biological treatment means 12. A biological activated carbon column is suitably used for the biological treatment. After filtering the biologically treated water with an ultrafiltration membrane apparatus 13, the biologically treated water is treated in a primary pure water system 20 and a sub-system 30 to produce the ultrapure water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
