PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability by joining steel plates to each other and reinforcing the steel plates in a simple structure, and to prevent the occurrence of noise, vibration and dust during construction. SOLUTION: This earthquake-resisting wall structure of a building includes a plurality of unit steel plates 4 arranged in a plane direction of a structure plane R and having first rugged engaging parts 4a on the outer peripheries; outer peripheral joint members 6 with one ends adhesively fixed to an existing skeleton (columns 2 and beams 3) and with the unit steel plate 4 side other ends having second rugged engaging parts 6a engaged with the first rugged engaging parts 4a to join the unit steel plates 4 to the existing skeleton; out-of-plane reinforcing members 5 fixed to both side faces of the unit steel plates 4 at the engaged parts to join the unit steel plates 4, 4 to each other and the unit steel plates 4 to the outer peripheral joint members 6 to each other at their engaged parts; and a filler 7 filled in a clearance of each engaged part.
