<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an utterance detection apparatus which can be used for detecting the intention of a speaking person, and a voice communication system employing the utterance detection apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A voice communication system 100 includes a pair of utterance detection apparatuses 10, 20. The utterance detection apparatus 10 includes an acceleration sensor 11, capable of detecting the motion displacement amount of a lower jaw part of the speaking person; a radio transmitter 12 connected to the acceleration sensor 11; a radio receiver 13; a signal generator 14 connected to the radio receiver 13; and a vibrator (voice vibration generating part) 15 connected to the signal generator 14.
