PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of display images by suppressing disclination in an electrooptical device such as a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device includes pixel electrodes (9a) provided for respective pixels and provided with a polygonal shape having a diagonal line along the pretilt direction of vertically aligned liquid crystal (50) and a first conductive layer (17) formed more on the lower layer side than the pixel electrodes through an interlayer insulating film on a substrate (10). The pixel electrodes are electrically connected to the first conductive layer through a connection part (9a') formed in a contact hole (33) opened in the interlayer insulating film in an area including a vertex that the diagonal line along the pretilt direction passes through among the vertexes of the pixel electrodes.
