Timepiece equipped with a mechanism for the retrograde display of the phases of the moon, comprising a mobile (8) indicating the phases of the moon in a kinematic drive relationship with a cam (5a) driven by the minute gear train, this cam (5a) being shaped in such a way as to move the moon phase indicator mobile in one direction during the ascending lunar phase and in the opposite direction during the descending lunar phase in order to move said indicator mobile (8), characterized in that the ratio between said minute gear train and said cam (5a) is chosen to effect one revolution over two lunar cycles, and in that the cam (5a) is a double heart shape, each heart corresponding to one of the lunar cycles.
