PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormal state detector that efficiently detects an abnormal state of a temperature detecting element used in, for example, the fixing unit of a printer, and that securely detects a temperature control abnormal state resulting from disconnection of the temperature detecting element. SOLUTION: The abnormal state detector includes: a first thermistor; a second thermistor; a switch disposed between a common terminal for connecting these two thermistors and a grounding; and a resistor connected in parallel to the switch. The detector has the function of detecting disconnection of the first and the second thermistors provided for a temperature sensor. The problem is solved thereby. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
