PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas burner improved in the expanding shape of flame for pavement construction. SOLUTION: This gas burner includes a grip 2 mounted on one end of a pipe 1, a burner body 3 mounted on the other end of the pipe 1, and a nozzle cylinder 4 covering the circumference of the burner body. The grip 2 incorporates a gas flow channel 2c, a flow rate adjusting mechanism 2d for adjusting a gas flow rate of the gas flow channel is disposed inside or near the grip 2, and a gas is guided from the gas flow channel 2c of the grip 2 to the burner body 3 along the pipe 1. The nozzle cylinder 4 is configured so that its internal cross-section has the rectangular or elliptical shape, and a long axis of the internal cross-sectional shape is gradually elongated toward an opening.
