PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer adsorbent which is used in a chemical analysis method for analyzing an organic halogen compound that is included in food or an environmental sample, qualitatively and quantitatively and which has such excellent selectivity that the organic halogen compound present in the sample to be inspected can efficiently be extracted and separated without being affected by impurities, and to provide a method for extracting the organic halogen compound. SOLUTION: The polymer adsorbent which can extract and separate the organic halogen compound selectively and easily by the hydrophobic interaction, hydrophilic interaction and London dispersion force thereof, is produced by reacting a hydrophilic non-aromatic polymer base material with a compound having a polyhalogenated aromatic group. The method for extracting the organic halogen compound includes the steps of: packing the produced polymer adsorbent in a column for analysis; passing the solution which is to be detected and includes the organic halogen compound, through the column for analysis to extract/concentrate the organic halogen compound; and eluting the concentrated organic halogen compound by using a solution for decreasing the London dispersion force between the polymer adsorbent and the organic halogen compound.
