PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric logging method and an electric logging device performing exact soil determination and simplifying the circuit configuration of an electrode for measuring specific resistance, by measuring the true specific resistance of the ground at respective depths in the earth and by evaluating the ground characteristics based on the measured values. SOLUTION: The electric logging method includes a step of arranging ground specific resistance measuring electrodes 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d and gap water specific resistance measuring electrodes 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d in the ground, a step of electrically connecting these electrodes, a step of configuring the circuit so that current flows in one group of electrodes by switching the polarity of an electric power source, a step of calculating the apparent specific resistance of the ground and the specific resistance of the gap water, and a step of calculating the true specific resistance of the ground based on these specific resistance values.
