<p>The disclosure relates generally to the treatment or prevention of disease in cattle. More particularly, the invention is directed to the production and use of modified bovine herpesvirus 1 (BHV-1) and their use in compositions and vaccines that protect cattle from BHV-1 infection while not suppressing the immunological response in the host. In one example, the invention is directed to the use of modified BHV-1, administered with additional immunogens, either through co-administration and/or through administration in combination vaccines, and the use of these vaccines for the protection of cattle from disease. In one example, use of the modified BHV-1 in the administered compositions facilitates an immune response to or against the additional immunogens.</p> |
