#CMT# #/CMT# The instrument has a control element (40) e.g. rotary wheel (42), controlling deflection movements of a shaft by moving control cables of a deflecting mechanism. A lock includes a catch mechanism connected with the control element such that the catch mechanism automatically moves into a locking position without actuating the control element. The control element is moved such that the catch mechanism is opened in a direction and the shaft is deflected. The control element is released in a position of the deflecting mechanism such that the deflecting mechanism is locked by the catch mechanism. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Examining instrument i.e. flexible endoscope, for examining a digestive system of a large animal e.g. cow and horse. Can also be used for inspecting a building, brickwork, hollow body component, engine component and rear ends of an air guiding blade of a turbine of an aircraft. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The control element is released in the position of the deflecting mechanism such that the deflecting mechanism is locked by the catch mechanism, thus controlling, locking and unlocking the deflection mechanism in secure manner during one hand operation.
