The station has a set of suction belt modules (21) arranged upstream to a blank separating grid (40) and movable transverse to a sheet transporting direction (F). Each of the modules has a suction belt (23) with an upper drum in a sheet transporting plane (E) for braking sheets (6) and a suction chamber (22) for producing suction air. Effective lengths of the belts are changeable and adjustable such that the lengths of the belts correspond to distance of an upstream edge of the station from an upstream edge of the grid. The belts are made of electrically conductive material.
