<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel capable of securely retracing a blur correction optical system, and to provide a camera. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lens barrel 1 includes: a vibrating section 17 supported so as to be movable with respect to a fixed part 16 within a plane intersecting an optical axis and also movable between a use position and a storage position in the direction of the optical axis; a blur correcting optical system L3 supported to the vibrating section and movable following the vibrating section within the plane intersecting the optical axis; and retracting mechanism sections 4b and 19b moving the blur correction optical system L3 to the retracting position retracted from the optical axis linked with the movement of the vibrating section 17 from the use position to the storage position. The lens barrel 1 further includes: a blur correction drive section 18 that moves the vibrating section 17 within the plane intersecting the optical axis; a storage control section 35 that outputs a storing instruction such that the vibrating section is moved from the use position to the storage position; and a drive control section 18a that holds the vibrating section 17 in a predetermined position within the plane intersecting the optical axis, by operating the blur correction drive section 18 after the storage control section 35 outputs the storing instruction.
