PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal colloidal solution containing high concentration metal colloid particles, imparting high electroconductivity and the like, and keeping excellent dispersion stability for a long term. SOLUTION: The metal colloidal solution comprises at least a dispersant and metal colloid particles having on the particle surface at least one sulfur compound selected from mercaptoacetic acid, mercaptopropionic acid and mercaptoethanol, contains≥1 wt.% of the metal colloid particles, and has a solution pH of 8-14.
