PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program conversion device which can reduce generation of transfer commands. SOLUTION: This program conversion device for converting a source program into an object program stores, in a memory, the source program including a program part described by a virtual register instead of an actual register, detects a variable having an existence part astride over the program part (step c2), calculates interest (merit and demerit)values when allocating the actual register to the detected variable, in each register (step c3), and allocates the actual register of the minimum interest value to the virtual register (step c4).
