The invention relates to a method for extracting an implant installed in a bone, comprising the application of torque on an extraction tool (2) in order to screw same into the implant until the implant/bone connection is broken. The invention is characterised in that the torque is applied in phases, whereby the increasing torque applied in each phase is greater than that applied in the preceding phase and subsequently the torque application is removed. The invention can be used to obtain the progressive controlled deformation of the head of the implant, such that the extraction tool can be inserted more deeply into the implant. Consequently, greater rupture torques can be applied without damaging the extraction tool. A trephine drill bit for executing the above described method is also disclosed. |
