A modulation method, demodulation method, circuit and chip for power line carrier are provided. The modulation method includes: detecting a frequency of narrow band non-gauss noise in a power line; selecting a non-noise frequency from a preset carrier frequency band as a modulation carrier frequency; generating a modulation carrier with the modulation carrier frequency; modulating digital signals, which are to be modulated, on the modulation carrier, so as to generate power line carrier signals.
