<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and a method of controlling the imaging device capable of generating a background image obtained by removing a moving object from a small number of photographed images. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided a base image memory 3 to hold an image imaged by an imaging section 2 as a base image, a reference image memory 4 to hold an image imaged by the imaging section 2 successively in terms of time with the base image, and a control section 9 to acquire distances to subjects included in respective regions included in the image imaged by the imaging section 2 as distance information, and both distance information corresponding to the base image acquired by the control section 9 and distance information corresponding to the reference image acquired by the control section 9, are compared with the reference distance information and as for a region of the regions included in the base image, in which the distance of the reference image is longer, the base image is updated by the reference image and the generated base image is generated as a background image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
