PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the number of signal lines since processing of several hundreds of signal lines is required in the whole of an assembled battery in a method for controlling a charging current of each unit battery on the basis of detection information generated by detecting a voltage or the like of each unit battery constituting the assembled battery by a battery management unit due to the presence of a unit battery that is not fully charged or, on the contrary, a unit battery that is excessively charged if charging the unit batteries by serially connecting the unit batteries as the assembled battery. SOLUTION: The assembled battery has a means that measures a voltage or the like of each unit battery 500 mounted on each unit-battery board and holds each measurement value and a means or the like that transmits each held measurement value to the battery management unit 100 as a digital signal. A plurality of unit-battery boards and the battery management unit 100 are connected via a single or double loop-shaped communication path. The transmission/reception of the measurement value or the like is executed between each unit-battery board and the battery management unit via the loop-shaped communication path.
