PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large field, high resolution, high efficiency rotary microscope or a scanning apparatus. SOLUTION: In the scanning system 100, a stationary device 50 is disposed on a fixed light path portion LP1. The system transfers collimated light travelling along a light path LP (indicated by dashed line) that includes a fixed light path portion LP1, an intermediate light path portion LP2, and a scanning light path portion LP3. A sample 60 intercepts at least a portion of the scanning light path portion LP3.
