PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an implement for stretching a main rope, which enables the main rope to be safely and easily stretched on a roof. SOLUTION: This implement 2 for stretching the main rope includes a tubular body 4 and an order wire 6. The tubular body 4 comprises a guiding hole which communicates from a proximal portion thereof to a distal end, an entrance hole which is formed at the proximal portion and which passes through the guiding hole, and an exit hole which is formed at the distal end of the tubular body and which passes through the guiding hole. A leading end of the order wire 6 is led into the guiding hole from the entrance hole, and goes through the guiding hole to the exit hole so as to go out of the tubular body. The tubular body 4 is provided with a plurality of tubular joint nodes (10a-10m) different in diameter. The inside joint node is pulled out of the space between the joint mode and the adjacent joint node outside radially, so that the tubular body 4 can be extended. The inside joint node is pushed into the space between the joint node and the adjacent joint node outside radially, so that the tubular body 4 can be contracted.
