<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate taking-out of a series of sheets even when the number of sheets of one copy exceeds the number of sheets dischargeable to one discharging destination, and to enable efficient printing. <P>SOLUTION: When an output number of sheets of one copy of one print job exceeds the number of sheets dischargeable at one tray of a sorting unit 114, multiple trays closest to each other are determined to be used in this printing and reserved before printing is started.
