The present invention relates to a hinged seat providing for numerous positions, during use, by combining the pendular motion of the seat portion and the backrest about an axis of rotation, and the synchronous mechanism connecting the seat portion to the backrest. In particular, the seat according to the invention is hinged in the pendular mode by a principal axis of rotation (Ga) on which two hinged quadrilaterals (ABCD), connected to the seat portion (12) and to the back rest (6) of the seat, synchronize by gravity the motion of inclination of the seat portion (12) and of the back rest (6) with the pendular motion.
