The method involves arranging a structured reflection layer or a structured reflection layer with embedded reflection-enhancing bead-like or microprismatic structural components between a carrier layer and a transparent surface layer. The carrier layer and/or the surface layer are made from thermoplastic plastic. A thermal effect principle is utilized for a simultaneous processing of cutting operation and an edge sealing operation, where the effect principle is realized with an ultrasonic cutting process and towing or tangential measurer cutting process. An independent claim is also included for a cutting plotter for executing a method for processing reflecting foil material.
